back to the topic of the thread, not steve's dead-end career job
if you're going to propose it, make sure you show them how it helps the company out... that always works... if they're gonna save money, or see improved productivity etc... give them some measurables, and then if you want to really get them to love you even more, after a month or whatever go back to your boss just to tell them that you've been keeping track of your measurables and show them how you've exceeded the goals you had set blah blah blah...
that way the next time you ask for something they'll be like hell yes!
