Beware of Computer Product Rebate Scams

Yes! After so much hassles and discouragements, now I have got all my rebates back.
TCC people here, my advise here, document everything and be persistent and make the officials (we pay them) work for you.

just to let you know.
where i work, Staples. we have a new system where it's an e-rebate.
no forms to fill out and mail in.
all you do is purchase your goods rebate prints out at the cash register and you fill out the typical information(name address product and so forth)
and it sends itself electronically.
generally your rebates are to your home/business roughly 2 weeks earlier possibly even quicker.
plus you can track them as well.
rebates are sometimes a hassle for those who have done them incorrectly. believe me I have people complain to ME asking where their money is..
so I usually go in my pocket and pull out lint as a joke. And say hey, that should suit you for the time being.

Im having trouble getting a rebate from onrebate.com. its 20 bux from a sd memory card off tigerdirect.ca. I sent the only UPC code on the packageing and they returned to me saying "sent wrong upc" like wtf is this, its the only one on the packageing, and how can there be a "wrong" upc code, last time i checked there is only one upc code on any product.

Call silverman helps, they did a story on rebates 2 months ago, this guy bought a printer from staples and they didnt want to honour the 50 dollar rebate, if you keep hassling the company they'll eventually give it to you.
Personally I never buy things with rebates, I hate dealing with those companies.
As for Canada Computers their prices are probably the lowest for computer parts, as long as you know what you're buying (and you don't return anything, 15% restocking fee), they're great.
