anyone know any decent bike trails within the GTA? Apparantly Barrie has some good ones?

long and nothing too difficult.

Ya Don River path, starting at Old Mills subway location takes you all the way to Lakeshore, not a bad path.

I don't know much in the city, if your looking for dirt paths (like fire roads, double track) Durham forest north on Lakeridge road is pretty nice, it has a little bit of everything, you can even try some single track while your there. The waterfront trail in Durham is pretty nice also (paved however), but probably a bit out of the way (for paved trail)...

if you want to go up to Barrie there are plenty of places...

Another good area I like is Ganaraska forest whihc is off 35/115, but its kind of out of the way...

for5 paved trails I recommend going to edwards gardens and riding all the way down to the down town core from there... no streets to cross and it's all paved....

as for dirt .. I have no Idea.

some of the best riding in ontario is in waterdown. and it is FREE. there are a lot of built ramps etc to session. there is a lot of good challenging climbs if you like that, rocks up and down the escarpment... a very good variety of riding to be found. pm me when you are planning on going and we can ride from my house to the trails. i don't get out as much as i'd like and i can use the excuse to get some more exercise. i'll probably struggle to keep up!

is anyone into road biking? i just started it this year (got sick of mountain biking), and just got a roof rack for my bike a few days ago, so i can go further away from home..

are there any good scenic trails further away from toronto with not too many cars?

I love going down the Don River path to the lakeshore, along the lakeshore, and then back up the Humber River path. It takes a long while, especially when you stop off for lunch on the way, but I enjoy doing that atleast once a year.
