Blocking text messages.

Blocking text messages.
Alright, so I keep on getting text msgs from some automated service. I never gave out my number to any services or anything nor did I give my number when signing up for anything, so that's my first concern.
My second concern is when I input the number into the filter to text messages, I still get them. I have a Razr, and this is what I did:
-Message Center
-Message Center Menu
-Message Setup
-MMS Message Setup
-Scroll down to Filter
-Select
The number I get them from is +767226. I put the whole number in there the first time, including the + (by the way, what the hell is that for?). I just entered it again without the + and I'm still getting messages.
What can I do to stop getting these messages, because it's costin me money, without unsubscribing from text messaging. And what can I do about finding out how this automated thing got a hold of my number.
Thanks.

Uh, here's one example:
Where as all punctuation is in the text message (not typos, haha).
SMS.ac moorooo83 posts nice 2 meet u! :hello there... want to chat with me? Bye! End? Reply END CMT

Usualy the plus before the digits of the number (not a phone number) means that its being sent from a computer (so its free for the person who's sending it....but you'll have to pay). Whenever you do text msg from the internet using your computer that number (+767226) changes to something else (but keeping the '+')....therefore these msgs are being sent from the same computer.
Basicly you're getting the TXT MSG verison of spam. It happens. Call up your cell phone provider, explain it to them and I'm sure they can fix that for you.

the + is actually for international or long distance or cross over carrier text messages...life for instance if sending a message to the states and it doesnt go through add the + to the front of the number and it will go through

I went to SMS.ac and told them to bugger off with my phone. I'll call Rogers in a bit and explain it to them.
Thanks everyone.

sms.ac is a unsolicited premium sms message.
Its like sending you a collect call you can't refuse.
I would advise calling everymonth and getting the charges reversed.
I have had several clients who have had this problem.
Basically someone you know subscribes to friendster and adds their contact list to it.
Friendster then spams those addresses with premium sms messages..
You then get messages from them that at last check were 25 or 50 cents a pop.
They will give you the standard bull**** saying you subscribed somewhere.
Strongly disagree and escalate if needed
SMS.AC probably pays your carrier a percentage from succesfully collecting
That number you have unsubscribed will change infrequently.
