welcome my friend to the best sport on earth =D
lol, bmx is sweet, the bike u get should demonstrate the type of riding ur gonna be doing, ur gonna want a bike with a shorter top tube for flatlanding and street, and a longer one for dirt, for flat and street u'd want something prolly in the 20 to 20.5. I recomend u just buy a used bike for now, or a cheap one since ur just starting out, theres gonna be alot of falls lol

You can have my Haro Cosmo for $400. It was $850 new plus i put stuff on it. 3pc. crack, Araya 48 wheels, Dave Mirra seat, etc. etc. This thing is bulletproof. let me know if interested.
PS: I used to be a bike mechanic at Cyclepath when I was younger, so I always took care of my stuff.

I worked there like 6 years ago. Don't have anymore links there. Eastern is good, so is DK, but you're gonna spend big cash to build from a frame up.
My bike is a ramp/street bike. This thing is at pro level. You can throw it off a bridge and not even worry. You could do flatland with it, but it's not really meant for it. Flatland bikes are smaller and have shorter frames. This thing has big pegs and stuff, so yeah you could have some flatland fun.
$400 isn't too much for a bike in mint cond that was over $800 new, and has a few hundred $ in parts on it. $400 and I could like meet you halfway or something, or $375 and you pick it up.
