Yup - at my past job I tested over 100 e-commerce sites and had things shipped north.

The one you really need to stay away from is DHL = criminals

USPS is the best cross border service IMO - but you need to work something out with the seller with regard to clever naming.

The phraze "Happy Birthday" on hte packing slip usually get's you through the gates.

i have ordered from ebay 2x and if you want to avoid customs have it shipped to a family member (if you are lucky like me) or have it sent by insured regular mail....

I only paid border fees ONCE, damn UPS 20 dollars for taxes and brokerage fees for a 15 dollar minidisc remote. worst transaction ever. USPS is the best, havent been charged once using it.

Yeah, when I wrote my post about USPS still being subject to customs fees, I meant on some packages. I've purchased about 10 things that came from the US and have had to pay customs fees on 3 of them. It all depends. Like some of you have already suggested, some creative stuff on the packing slips work.
