Can't go wrong with a Canon. My A85 takes great shots and is very easy to use with its "auto" features, but also has very many manual settings. It is kinda bulky though. Maybe a Canon Powershot SD.

Canon A710 is hands down if you want something decent and nice. Infact most Canon A series cams are nice...and you have alot of choice.

if you want something cheap, find a lightly used one with a decent lenses (Canon A series will do for what your looking for)...
unless you want to do blowing up and cropping work, you don't need a high megapixle camera, 3 or higher will do (actually if your just doing 4x6s, then you can get away with a 2 no problem).....

okay...burn the fact on 2mp since no 2mp camera makes decent pictures...3.2 at the least fuji/canon/nikon but ur gonna have to dig deep for one with 3.2mp these days
