i have seriously thought about going into politics a number of times.. i dunno if i want to though... i alright got some rich guy who like me who's told me if i ever need.. he'll hook up fundraisers for me....

i could solve illegal drug trafficking in one day.

the top priority of my agenda would be remove a number of agendas at all levels of government.

no more discussing midget tossing and special rights awareness.
I thought the same thing too Like you I'd trim the fat.

LOL...I'd vote for you in politics, and like that rich guy, I'd help with fundraising too.

Honestly, I don't think I have ever agreed more with a post in my life. You hit it dead on.

haha.. i have the support of people i don't know!! wicked.

this guy was serious... he's my uncle.. not related though.. i was ranting to a bunch of people.. and he talked to me.. hahaha..

governments inherintly suck. a democratic dictatorship with checks of power would be ideal i think.

prisoners, immigrants, and those with an IQ of 119 or lower should not be allowed to vote or something. haha

It's like going to a hardcore muslim country and expecting them to open up a strip club with alcohol for locals.

this should be a "letter to the editor" about how the majority of canadians feel, but are too scared to voice this opinion, for the fear of being labeled prejudice or commiting a "hate crime"

I admire the opinions being expressed in this forum very much

everything is relative....

1. Taxes too high
-a lot less than socialist countries

2. Cost of living too high
-move to india or another country and compare your salary to your quality of life with theirs

3. Government controls too many aspects of living
compare your rights to a non-muslim in egypt, or any other hardcore muslim country.

4. Punishment for criminals too lenient
-and too harsh for others, at least we don't chop off hands.

5. Rights for regular people non-existent
-have you heard of what human rights are like in asian countries?

6. Caters to lobby groups for votes only
-this is the same as everywhere else. look at arnold

7. Recourse for Political wrong doing non-existent
-you think george bush or kim jong are gonna be punished by their own government?

8. Climate too harsh
-people live in alaska, and disaster areas (ie north carolina). i don't remember ever losing anything to a hurricane, flood, or earthquake

9. Minimal chance for a regular person to get ahead and grow assets, there is no "Canadian Dream"
-tell that too a kid in cuba

10. Attitude of the people
-i'm not quite sure what the attitude that you don't like is... easy going beer drinkers?

---------------------

just another view on things compared to a lot of other places in the world...

Democratic dictatorship would be the best for getting things done, and done at a reasonable cost. An accounting style of Internal Controls could be implemented to remove abuse of power.

As for your latter, I don't agree, I still believe in equality for all Citizens (except the prisoners). My IQ came back at 159...not high enough to be crazy, but high enough to understand the difference.

regarding taxation and government stupidity, you're going to get that anywhere.. at least my taxes don't go towards bombing countries. i'd rather see them wasted on political hookers and coke.

i'd like to move to a country like sweden.. but i find the relationships i have with friends and family too important to be valued over money and government.

I agree

First 15 years of my life was spent in Asia, and 15 years of my life is spent in Canada. With an equal time for comparison, I say Canada is not bad.

Again, that's including traveling to other places of the world.

Personal rights and freedom are never enough and satisfied. It is only when you learn to appreciate things that will open your eyes and see things differently.

I used to think the winters were long, but try to go and live in Edmonton and you'll find out how long winter really is...

I could never hate a country that let me in from another one from danger

try to go live in Iraq and see if you hate Canada...because I know how it feels

The most important reason that I am not proud to be Canadian, is that Canadians would rather compare Canada to living other places in the world. Places where people do not have choices to change their country, where people are there for the Governments purpose. Where change is distated by government.

Canada's Government is supposed to be there for its people (its called democracy), yet Canadian's who have choices choose not to confront a government that is corrupt, misusing Canadians funds, following agendas for their personal gain, NOT Canada's.

Its really sad that Canadians do not use these rights, but rather say "Its better than such and such a place." Someday it won't be, if we keep accepting things as they are.

I think that hate is to strong of a word for the things i dislike about our country. All of my concerns have already been mentioned in here. I rarely say that i hate anything or anyone. Hate is a very powerful thing.
