Canadian Federal Election Oct 14th - Who gets your vote?

So the federal election is scheduled earlier next month..which was a bit of surprise from the Conservatives but nonetheless.

Lets see who gets your vote. If you want, tell us why you are votign for the person and/or party.

I'm leaning towards PC. I don't think Harper has done too bad of a job so far. He has reduced taxes, and even though our economy has taken a bit of a hit we are much better off then the US economy.

I would like to see them get onboard with a stronger green plan. I think they are lacking in this area. We'll see what happen.

Dion's green plan is to tax us more. I definately do not need more taxes. I do like Harper's plan to revamp the young offenders act.

But then again, what politician does what he say he will.

As sad as that sounds, I completely agree with it. Seems like all politicians are telling you what you want to hear before the elections, but after they do what they please.

You're funny! She is not gonna stay there next to you, so you can still put the 'x' next to the person you want to vote. Then tell you're mom you voted for the person she told you to. J/K! Don't ever lie to your mom! LOL!

in my judgement, jack layton is still the better guy out there cuz he has always stood for consumer rights more than anybody else have been. issues that matter to the common ppl and that impact our daily lives.

stepane dion......half of the time i dont get what he is trying to say. i just cant connect with him.

harper....too much on the right....too conservative. although some of this initiatives have been credible (gst cut, involving women etc)

you can tell im a democrat....i will volunteer on the day of the election also and i am looking forward to it. we must vote...cuz if you dont vote, you dont count in a way.

it kills me how many people are so passive about the people running our country. if you don't get informed and cast your vote and voice your concerns... you know what: things will only get worse. cuz the people that have the lobbying power will just continue to chip away at the fabric of middle class, eventually taxing away any little 'social benefit' that we have.

that being said, i'm in the same boat. i didn't even know there was an election. even worse, i don't even know who is in power now. all i know is i don't like what's going on, and i want to become involved in the democratic process. yes, it's all the same b.s. but that's why we need to exact discipline and demand accountability, and you do that by communicating with your local MP and voicing your concern. they want your vote, so why not make them work for you.

I'd like some intel on this... does anyone wanna run down a quick and dirty list of the candidates and issues? like who wants what? wtf is with raising taxes, i thought canada had a budget surplus.

^ true and you can see that even with this small survey in this thread, Conservatives are not holding a majority government haha. NDP + Liberals can form the next govt with majority easily

thats harper's biggest nightmare
