Canadian Tire Auto shop full of liars!

This is just a heads up guyz,

I usually go to mr lube for oil changes n **** cuz the guyz there hook me up sometimes. Day b4 yesterday I got the mr.lube a bit late to I had to go to Crapy tire. Now I never wanted to go there in the first place but the oil change was going to be overdue since I was booked solid for work this week. Anyways..heres what happened.

I told the cashier that I wana be with my car, and I want a experienced driver who can drive a car with short shifter.

So this young lookin kid comes out, and Im like.."Yo, have you ever driven a car with a short shifter?" and I think that this moment he got a bit star eyed by the car and said "yeah dont worry". Sits in the car...turns it on...and what do i hear?..a big loud crank I was pist...so Im telling him to stop and he starts to rev up the car while he waits at the stop...and he moves up to the garage and parks it in. And when he came out Im like .."Dude u ****in lied to me!..u said u knew how to drive a SS" n hez like..." no...I do" and Im like "why the F did u crank it then? ur supposed to put it into first then reverse, the gears are extremely close!" n hez like "uhh not in the cars Ive driven so far with short shifters.." Then I told him how to do it right...then at the end of all this the moron prob still excited about working on my car tries to jack it up. I honestly thought that CT had those pits so the car doesnt need to be jacked up...so Im like no...no more damage...I told him not to even bother with jackin it up...cuz even tho Im raised fully, the jack still wont fit cuz of my body kit..n he would have F*cked up the sides if he tried..So I just took my keys n my refund n left.

The guyz at Mr.lube love my car, they do a quick job. I know when to go now, and who to talk to and I'll get a decent price now.

CT sucks, never going there ever again. Only with my dads van if he needs me to.

if you knew CT sucked why take your car there?
I would NEVER recommend taking your car to crappy tire for service.
I've never had any problems with my short shifter, i mean i don't have to put it in first then reverse, sounds like there might be something wrong with your tranny.
I took my car to Penzoil for a 10 minute oil change and the kid who drove my car stalled it twice then grinded the **** out of it and then revved it up to 3 grand and rode the **** out of the clutch. I also told them that i had a honda oil filter that i wanted them to use and that its on the passenger seat (in plain view). I told this to both of the kids that worked on my car, but they still didn't use it!!!
Then they tried to tell me that i had a new civic 1.7L engine in my car?!?!?! Its a b16, they also tried to tell me that it only needed 3.7L of oil. I mean, this is the first oil change that i've ever taken it somewhere, i usually do them myself and know how much oil to use. But it was way too cold and i was just about to 2500 miles since my last so i figured it couldn't hurt.
This is why i do ALL of the work on my car myself....regardless.

i have driven over 20 cars with short shifters and none of them have the same issue as yours. get your tranny checked. i dont see the kid having done anything wrong. if i was the kid and you were to start bad mouthing by swearing and **** I would have grinded the **** out of the gears. Whats canadian tire going to do? fire me? lol all they will say to you is to take it to head office since your car is modified.

^^^that must have been the most dumbest post ever. Why would anyone who works there deliberately wanna get in trouble and be fired? and be out of a job and be out of a referance for their resume?

if it was a mistake it was an honest one at that. the kid didnt lie about him being able to drive short shifter cars because the symptom that goblin described i have never experienced it myself.

.."Yo, have you ever driven a car with a short shifter?"
there's a special way to drive "shortshifter" equipped cars?

yeh man its not your short shifter its your tranny. Don't blame the kid cause your car grinded. I used to have a short shifter and you dont have to go into other gears first.

LMAO at this post.

yes there is... you need to have your seat adjusted in a proper gangsta lean position, rev your engine really high while parking (esp. reversing), etc..

Oh so that's what I'm doing wrong then..

In Green Goblin's defence though, mechanically it is good common practice to select another gear before selecting 1st or Reverse, with or sans short shifter. Selecting another gear (2nd-5th) allows the synchros match the speed of the gear to be selected(1st or reverse). It has the same effect as "double clutching"

goblin that sucks. There's no need to bash on the members here guys, so what maybe he doesnt know that his tranny needs some work, or maybe thats what someone told him to do when driving a short shifter. I bet you the kid at CT just said yes so he could drive the car, how many of us if given the chance to drive a tiptronic porsche would turn it down even if we didnt know how to drive a tiptronic, i bet really no one would. He posted to warn us and lets leave it at that, we know the mechanics at CT are not the greatest.

the end.

CT isn't all that bad though, there is some with pretty good guys, and mechanics who know what they are doing.

lol thanks tuttigirl and trackhack, lol I didnt expect to see this many replies ...was at lunch newayz...

Yes I was told by a mechanic that its best to drive a short shifter by switching into 1st first if I wana put it in reverse...cuz sometimes it wouldnt go straight into reverse n if it did it would grind...putting it into first has been the best advice ever cuz the car doesnt grind at all and it always goes in.

By the way Zeeman, its funny how u say "if you knew CT sucked why take your car there?" yet then u continue about going to penzoil and having a bad experience..u didnt plan on it and neither did I. Im sure your a great mechanic but Im not afraid of admitting that Im not the best at car work.

That being said, I'll restate what tutti said...I only posted to warn u guyz.
