Tech that worked at CT because the dealer dont trust them. i have problems with there parts ppl i always seem to get the wrong parts. i mite have said this b4... they should also have either lic. techs or retired techs behind the parts counter.
why do you need liscenced techs behind the parts counter?

the parts department at canadian tire is just fine, the reason people get the wrong parts is cause the dont know specifically what they want....

the computer system at CT is very easy, a series of questions, (year, make, model, engine size etc)

if you are going to come in to buy parts, you have to know what your car is...

people get the wrong parts cause they are morons and dont know their own car.... looking up parts on a computer is idiot proof... as long as the right vehicle info is punched in, you cant be mislead to a wrong part....

If u want to do oil change yourself. Some ppl i know they use the curb as a jack so they run on top of the curb on the 1 side and then they can go under and do their oil change. Mr lube and canadian tire ppl can only do oil change but no nothing about cars.

i know this post is old but i got to say something. did anyone actually read their owners manual????? if you did it tells you to shift in to 1st or 5th doesnt really matter before you shift in to reverse. reason is because revers doesnt have a syncro! and the reason why you can shift in to revers with out doing it sometimes is because the gears are moving in side the tranny and theres no syncro.. fack iv only owned my honda for less then a year and i know this ****. i really dont get how no one knew this??!!! theres nothing wrong with his tranny at all. this pisses me off alot for some reason

First off, I know this is old...

I think Green_Goblin said why he went there in the first place, so why do people keep asking why would you go there anyways. And you never know until you try right. So now he knows.

WTF is everyone getting so defensive about with CT.
CT ain't that bad. The one in my area anyways. I've had some problem with them, but problems I could of had with any idiot mechanics. But I also see why they aren't on the top of the list.

And so what if Saad treats his car like its so precious, thats probably because it is to him. He came here to give you guys a head's up and the majority of you guys ripped him a part for it.

Thanks for the warning Saad

read what you just wrote. Are you saying:

1 - it is recommended you shift into a forward gear before going reverse (and you cant go into 5th then reverse there's a lock on it, just though i'd point it out)

2 - you dont have to do it, just throw it in R and you're good to go

....the answer is #1, which had already been established in this thread, yes it does say that in the manual.

in my own defence as a tire and lube tech. at ct.....not all of us are a bunch of idiots. if we get special instructions...more often then not we do follow them...i do everything i can to make sure the job is done correctly and even try to surpass what i can do...granted i don't know a lot about cars, and yes i am learning...but we do have people in the shop that can answer any questions that i may have. i will agree with the fact that some idiots do get hired...and in the shop i work in....they usually don't last very long.

it does suck that some of you have had such horrible experiences...it really does. i love my job and i take pride in doing my job to the best of my abilities. and please don't let them reflect all canadian tire shops......
