Angry Carpool Lane

This new "CARPOOL LANE" is really "B.S."

2 people or more people in the car can only use the far left lane (fast lane)???

Highways 403 and 404 became carpool lane, if a driver is alone in the vehicle, he/she will get a ticket as well as demerit points???

I wonder how is that going to work in rush hour, are they going to be pulling over every vehicle that has 1 person in the car?

This is really BS, .... i wonder what they are going to think of next

I am not sure exactly how this works because I haven't been on the 404 lately. But did they actually add a new lane to the highway? or did they just take an existing lane and call it a "carpool" lane? if they just took an existing one then that's counterproductive man! The traffic is already bad enough, and I don't see how that could help. Before before I jump to conclusions I guess its best to answer that first.

they just use the existing lane, if you are alone in the car, and in the third lane (far left, fast lane), there is a possibility that you will get pulled over and given a ticket and on top of that demerit points.

and now all of a sudden
"A bus of any type can use an HOV lane, even without passengers. This helps buses keep to their schedules and provide reliable, efficient service"???

i dont think its going to help....traffic is going to be just the same as always....instead of been stuck in traffic all alone in the left lane, now you will have a buddy to talk to

the states have this, like in denver it really does help out. there's the regular 3 lanes plus the far most left lane that is the carpool lane. i mean, people should carpool, why have 10 people take their own cars, when you can cut that number down to 5 cars, or even 2 or 3. from 10 to 3 cars on a regular basis will definitely cut down on traffic and emissions. and then you will have the douche's that will just drive in that lane.

and what if someone in that carpool doesnt like the other person, and they start arguing for no reason, do you think that other person is going to carpool with same group?? in some states, you are stopped and asked where you are headed, and if there is anybody going in your direction, guess what he/she is going with you??? is that where we are headed too, putting strangers in my car, i never even seen or heard of?

i never said anything about strangers... if you and 4 of your friends all work downtown, maybe not at the same place, but in the general area, why not take one car instead of 4 or 5 cars? would be much easier anyways. my friend and 2 people that he works with carpool to work. one week one person drives, the next week its another person and the week after that the last person drives. saves on gas anyways.

i would personally rather go downtown will a friend or some friends, be in traffic and wait for 15-30 min before work then to be by myself in traffic.

Kwyze does have a point...

Its pretty much forcing us to carpool or cut down on taking our own cars when we can all easily fit into one.

But...I still think its a crappy considering the fact that its the fast lane...I dont care if they add a lane or not...they should have used the far right lane....there are a few benefits to that...Ppl merging onto the highway wont have as hard of a time, so that reduces stupid accidents. In states the carpool lanes are rarely as packed as the regular lanes...so yea buses will get wherever they want faster. ppl wana pull over to the right..they have more room and less traffic to deal with.

But its retarted to have it all the way to the left...yea...I know...u can think of it as an express lane and it would be a bit annoying to by on the right lane where cars keep merging and leaving..but DUDE! youve got your OWN freakin lane! its better then what I'll have...just a regular lane pilled up with trucks and vans and other slow moving objects.

Government is just using this as a reason to raise the taxes and be like "oh but we did put your money to use...and it helps YOU out".. plus they got another excuse to ticket us...
speeders usually use the far left..so it works out well for the govt and the cops..and ppl without cars lol

that is true. also, when i was in montreal, they had a crazy lane setup. where people merge, inbetween the slow lane and the middle lane, they had a solid/dashed line, like solid on the left, and dashed on the right. so you could go into the middle lane from the slow lane, but not from the middle lane to the slow lane, to ease up on merging. it was actually really cool.
sorry for the ****ty description but not too sure how to describe it otherwise.

I would be more concerned about the idiot drivers that do not know how to merge with traffic when aiming for the off-ramp...some people just don't know how to plan ahead when they need to exit. I believe this will cause more havoc...and then there are those who like to hog the left lane/overly cautions leaving a whopping 10 car lengths, i guess they could be put in this catagory...i'll give them the benefit of the doubt of being "safe" drivers.
