I don't think Devil's Edge has anything to do with the police, but they'll surely be out & about with the premiere of this film.

I surely wouldn't involve myself or my car just to get a couple of free tickets... too risky.

What's the auto theft rate at movie theatre parking lots again?

Just so all of you are aware that this ISN'T a setup and I'm not with the police, this is a authorized sanctioned event by Cineplex Odeon, there's no catch to the free passes and the entire thing is being done as a promo for the film.

As well, I'm a part of the TPC (Toronto Prelude Club) Ask any of the guys there who know me, and they'll tell you that this is no set-up. I also know one of your members, Sam, and he's an active member on the TPC boards.

As for security, don't worry about that, there will be more than enough employee eyes protecting your cars at the theatre. and there will be no screwing about by some punk kids.

So for those who were showing intrerest in bringing their cars, I have sent out PM's (BarelyLegalCivi, toyman29, dOpEy, and MAZDA KID) all others who are interested, just pm me

Guy let me say this clearly for everyone to understand.

I was running around all day setting up for Importfest and promoting. I got there at 6PM let me stress that 6PM...so I arrive rushing my *** off. To my amazement NO ONE WAS THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! not a single car except for myself decided to show! So I go inside I speak with the manager...turns out your contact "Abby" was away on vacation.

The only good thing was I seen and talked to this girl from my school. Otherwise I displayed the car from 6-8 and didnt even watch the movie. Everyone flopped! The question I have for you is, if you organize an event should it not be your duty to be present? Like I understand many people went to Colossus but, I drove to Colossus to drop off the stickers for importfest then drove all the way back to Eglington because I thought I was late.
I spoke to the manager he said he understands my frustration especially if this was apparently "organized."

Therefore, in decency I will be returning there later on today with MY OWN group of cars to help him out to promote the movie. And we will still be granted our free passes. I had the opportunity to see the movie for free because I did show up but I chose not to, instead ID rather make the best of it and try to round up some cars.

Im not criticizing you by any means, but I do suggest one thing. That would be, if you set something up BE THERE!

End of my rant.

PS: When I came back later in the night around 9:10 to see if anyone was there for the 9:20 show, alot of people appreciated seeing my car. A couple parents talked to me about the car and what not. At least some of the kids were happy.

S2K KID I apologize for the fall out for the show.

It turns out that my other cars ended up flaking on me and there was nothing I could do about it. I made the calls to them only to find out that they were "busy" and I couldn't say two words about it. Things like that get under my skin, but I couldn't just make them go, but I know I won't offer or rely on them for another show.

As for myself turning out to the event, I was unable to make it only because I was the middle man and my car was down for the weekend. As bad as it sounds, I was to organize the event via my desk, and the theatre was to round up the cars upon arrival. Now upon hearing that Abby was out on vacation, I'm quite surprised myself, as he was the one who sent me out to gather the cars to send to him.

I am truly sorry for any inconvenience that I may have caused you and your friends. With that, I appreciate the fact that you took your time and effort to gather some people you know. I know that my excuse is not that of much strength, but hope that you do understand my position.

-Mike

(NOTE: the people that "flaked" on me are not members of the TCC...d0pEy and others did give reason for not showing and everything was fine in regards to that. The ones that did flake were individuals that couldn't own up to their word...I just wanted to keep things clear )
