Caution! Cockroach at Destiny BBT!
Hi guys, I'm sure a lot of you go to Destiny, the bubble tea place in Scarborough. The gist of it: a roach was found in a hot chocolate. Whats even more disturbing is how the management handled the situation. Please read it and ****** the word. One thing I can't stand are places like this that don't appreciate their customers, and can't own up to their own mistakes.

* I have decided to revise the purpose of this group so that things won't be taken out of context. I have also made changes on previously stated important notices and disclaimers. But, I have not changed the story itself.
Purpose of this group: To share my story with everyone of what I experienced at Destiny. I want to bring this to people's attention so that they are able to make their own informed decisions as customers of the establishment.
I am in no way implying that the establishment itself is infested with cockroaches (as stated in other forums). What I am simply stating is that the staff of the establishment served me a beverage that is infested with 2 cockroaches, and to relay how the staff and management had and is handling the issue.
* Important: I will keep this strictly facts and my opinion will have no affect what so ever on any information i post up. Again, this is NOT an anti-destiny group, I am just stating the FACTS.
May I recommend you the cockroach special at Destiny?
On Sun. Dec. 7, 08, I ordered a small hot chocolate (#1207), from Destiny and what I got was more than what I ordered.
Part 1:
First of all the service was BAD BAD BAD, we didn't get our menus until we called one of the servers for one and their attitude, wow where did they learn customer service? So I order one of my usual which is a hot chocolate. Yes I know why a hot chocolate from a bbt place, well it was cold that night and my freezing self needed something hot fast. Ok, so I get the hot chocolate, no problems there drink looks good, took a few sips, maybe a good one inch worth off the drink and I decided to put some sugar into the drink and I started stirring. As I stirred the drink I saw something in it and I thought it was chocolate chunks. When the thing finally surfaced what I saw was 2 BIG cockroaches, and a couple of legs floating around. *gags*
Part 2:
After I found the cockroach, the server was called over and when she saw it she looked like she wanted to throw up, she apologized and said she'll come back (maybe to ask someone else what she should do... hhmm maybe call the manager?). So she comes back and tells us that they can take 13% off the bill. Say what? I still have to pay 87% of the cockroach infested drink? We asked for the manager and she told us that their gone but is aware of the situation. So basically the manager was nowhere to be found, and if the building ever burnt down to the ground the manager wouldn't know about it until the next time they come in for work. Seriously, what kind of business are you running when there is no single person, no supervisor no assistant manager no nothing to make sure that there is still a restaurant the next day.
OH to top it off!Our server gave us so much attitude and tried to play it off that maybe the cockroach didn't come from there. What, did you go next door to make my drink or something? Obviously not!
The moral of the story? You decide for yourself. I have made my decision and I will never impose it on anyone. I am NOT asking you to stay away from Destiny, but rather I am simply informing and educating you of what I know is to be true. You as the customers can only make that choice.

That is nasty. I too would have been disappointed with the way the restaurant handled the situation. I highly doubt the company will take legal action, as that is going to be a large expense, when they are to blame. This was also posted on RFD, http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/s...d.php?t=670083, it has approximately 17,000 views.

That's disguisting - however, I'm not surprised with either finding the roach or the reaction you guys were shown. I certainly would have gone ape shiet if it happened to me but, think about all the shiet that goes on behind the kitchen's doors. Still, actually finding it in your drink is truely disguisting. Thanks for sharing your mishap with us - I certainly will NOT be going back there from now on.

I once ordered a drink and it tasted terrible. I asked my it tasted bad (ive had the drink before, and knew what it was supposed to taste like). She agreed to bring me another one..
she came back with it again, but before she left I tried it and it tasted like sugar syrup again.. i told her i didn't want it
she said ok.
when the bill came, they were both on the bill..
so i asked a waitress, she said she would find our waitress
we waited
and waited
and waited
eventually we all got (leaving the money for the rest of the bill -the 2 bbt's).
after a lengthy dicussion (no yelling, just discussion) i told her im not paying and im leaving...
she said she would have to call a manager...
i left before the manager got to the table...
in the end...ummm
i forgot the point of the story
