Actually there are a lot less accidents in Europe then in Canada. But when there is an accident it’s a multi car accident, due to not having enough space to brake safely. But none the less, there area less accidents, people are scared to drive here in Canada (my grandmother would probably give you a finger, flash, and honk at you for going 100 km/h on the highway). In Portugal the lanes are a couple feet shorted then here and around 90% drive stick, most don’t even know what an automatic tranny looks like. Tourists in Europe don’t know the rules and are not used to the speeds so they say its crazy there. I actually like the European highway rules, cops can’t give you a ticket for speeding so they nail you on improper passing, slow driving, signaling, etc. (the sh*t cops here don’t care about)
I actually think they should bring something like that here. Like a minimum limit a car can drive in each lane, left lane 140km/h, middle lane 120km/h and right lane 100km/h, You drive at what speed you are comfortable at. Cars now a day can easily do 180km/h safety, tire and brake technology has come along way from the 60’s.
