i woulnd't say its a waste
with the price in gas these days, considering they run on a small turbo diesel engine and get amazing gas mileage it could pay for itself in a few years with the gas you save...
you can also swap panels on the outside if you get sick of the colour/pattern

500/tank and the tank only cost like 15bucks if that to fill which is less than half a honda tank...therfore smart > civic
4L/100km 22L tank...diesel at .81/L 17bucks compared to the new civics 8L/100km 50L tank...gas at .81/L 40bucks
still think its a cashgrab my friend?
and 130kmh is more tha sufficient for what these cars are meant for...urban commuting and runaround

they are actually pretty roomy for such a small car...plenty of leg room and hip room for the average north american...these things will be super popular in the next few years...everyday I see more of em on the streets here
I personally wouldnt buy one cuz it doesnt fit my lifestyle (dogs, women, dj equipment etc) but if I did work downtown or whatever it would be a great car to have...park anywhere and super cheap on fuel
