get a wireless router........go to staples....its simple as pie....

All instructions will be in the box when you buy it. No point in explaining everything on here.

Total set-up time, 5mins.

You can get a wireless router with wired ports, and wireless capabilitys. Plug your modem to your router, from your router to your PC, and use wireless for your mac.

If your in a house range doesnt really matter, unless you live in a mansion...I suggest you set up your router by the book since you dont know much about them.

What I mean to say is that your router simply lets anyone connect to your internet if you dont setup properly...if you follow the instructions and put a firewall/password on it you should be fine. My friend didn't bother with his and his internet got shutdown for sending a lot of v1ruses to the area...turns out someone was connecting wirelessly and using his network.

Anyway, Any router is good, linksys, d-link are the most common names that come to mind.

You will probably run into some frustration but trust me once its all done you'll be a pro at it...

Good Luck
