Computer Help

Anybody here know of a good freeware for spyware and adware removal? also i hate pop ups is there any good freeware for that? i only use internet explorer so i need something compatible with it that wont block things like active x n crap.

there is a program called adaware that find and removies spyware off your computer

Popup blocker, Id suggest the google toolbar as well.

Spyware remover, spybot search and destroy and adaware. I use them both and there pretty good.

i always get these so called ads in the middle of each webage that say in the corner ads by gooogle n crap like that. and the ads are always somehow related to the topic i am searching. is that mean there is adware in effect or is there something wrong with the website?

yes, those are adds on the site, not some pop up, and they always relate to the topic, because they get info from your cookies, and google displayes related stuff.

you cant do anything about those google ads. they are harmless, unless you click on them and they take oyu to some third party site, which might be harmful.

use google tool bar it kinda works... for spyware in ur case try this site its an online antivirus spyware remover..

i've also noticed switching from internet explorer to firefox pops have reduced a lot !

I use Adaware and Spybot search and destroy - I find one program doesnt get them all so I run two.

The thing is though, no matter which one you use - it is only as effective if you are using a firewall and or virus protection also.

But like mentioned above - Mozilla foxfire is a way to eliminate some (but not all) spyware and popups.

i wouldn't use anything other than microsoft defender, or whatever it's called now.

i actually have not had any spyware issues for a long time now... and that goes for my entire office..
