The main things to check when dealing with that is..

1) Windows Video settings
2) Video Drivers
2) Video Card seated properly
3) Registry corruption

Try those or maybe boot into Safe mode and try some things good luck!

then yah, check out the display, then settings; from the control panel, and go into the advanced section by clicking the advanced button - here you can check out your video card.

has it been like this from the start? try "degauss". you have to hit one of the buttons on your monitor to get into the menu and look for "degauss". sometimes this will bring your monitor back to normal.

that sucks. JetStorms reply is pretty much what you can look at.

if you can, try plugging it into a different computer to see if you get the same results. if so maybe it's just a bad monitor.

is it one of those dell flatscreens? my g/f had a prob with the display early when she first got the comp and they just sent her a new one. dell is good that way when it comes to warranty,.

Check the pins on the 15 pin male connector that connects the monitor to vid card, some pins are prob. bent
