computer Monitor?????

I need a new computer monitor....

I am thinking of a 17" Samsung SyncMaster™ 765MB

What do you guys think?

Is this a flat screen? Because I know that samsung also makes DynaFlat... confused..... please help me clearify.

I'm not going to bother asking to store..... as you all can see, my post time is 1:20 am, and I am still at work.

Thanks all

for a new monitor u'll be glad if you do step up to a 19" especially if u use it for any length of time.. if you are stay in the 17" realm check out the KDS xf-9e or 9p (both different). For an extra 10-20 bux it is a 19" verson instead of a samsung 17" with almost identical specs (refresh rate is higher on the kds model)...

My 21" rocks!

Real easy on my weary old eyes. Everything fits onto one screen without scrolling.

Get the biggest screen you can afford.......you won't regret it.

That's right, KDS will last...however, if your talk about quality...Samsung is way better than KDS.

In my work place. I have a KDS side by side with a Samsung...
you can tell Samsung is a lot sharper than the KDS!

Just my 2 cents!

The problem with that is thou your probably not comparing apples to apples. To do that u'd pretty much first have to have 2 comparable models... spec wise that is... Then both computers would need the exact same video output i.e. same video card.. and then the video settings would all have to match aswell... resolution, refresh rate and so on....

I know exactly what you're saying... as for PC specs. both testing stations are identicle to each other(IBM NetVista Crap). Not sure about the refresh rate of the Monitor, because the KDS that we used do not have a W2K Monitor Drivers.

But Generally, what you paid is what you get IMO!

KDS is good if you have very limited budget, just my 2cents!

What about "eye fatigue"? what's that have to do with the refresh rate? What is refresh rate?

Another question, I heard that the true flat not LCD, but the normal true flat monitor have square resolution not the normal dot resolution, so that is why they cost 4X as much and much better quality.

Thanks for all the answers, there all great.
