Do i just connect the two computers and network theM? If so, what do i connect them with and what else do i have to do to get things going??

Thanks guys.

what kind of files? how big are these files?
just take the HD out and put it into the machine you want the files to stay on.

none of this extra cable business. do things the easy way.

if the files are gonna be huge then i also suggest grabbing the HD and put it on the other computer because if you just transfer files by networking 2 computers it may take quite a while unless you don't mind waiting

i'd suggest pulling out the HD as well. if you know how to do it it's straight forward and will get the job done quickly and without any headaches

taking out the hard drive is not the way for me because i just want to transfer maybe 3 - 5 gigs of info anyways.

So i connect the ethernet cable to both compus and i can start to drag files over????????? is it that simple?

u wish .. u gotta setup the network between the 2 .. the network you setup will depend on ur network setup .. if ur using a router its an easy setup .. however if ur going from PC -> PC then it may get tricky .. due to the fact that pc - pc cable is diffrent than a regular network cable u gotta get a crossover cable .... truss me .. takin the HDD out is prollly the easiest..

to me personally, I find it's useless to go out and buy a crossover cable when all you really need is in your hands already.

Spending money to do something you have at your disposal which costs you nothing. Where's the logic behind that?

But, I hope all went well.
