i'm not above average in intelligence at all.

i just educate myself instead of watch TV. :P

these are the kinds of problems they should have kids trying to figure out in math class instead of ms grumbys stupid apples for her pies

if you pick 9999 it wont work cause the next step you need to substract.. to that makes sense.

thats why it clearly asks for you to pick random numbers.

it has to do with the subtract of a number from another number where all the digits are the same but in a different order. there is a infinite number of possibilities..

ok so that statement means jack ****.

so look at the number you get when you subtract one number from the other number... nothing special right? wrong. all the digits will add to either 18 or 9 since you've circled one of the digits and only one it just takes the difference and presto there's your number. with longer digit strings you just get higher multiples of nine but they will always add up to a multiple of nine. so the computer just has to get what the digit is to add too your digits typed in to get a multiple of nine. if the digits you type in add up to a multiple of 9 then your circled number is either a zero or a nine. now since your not allowed to circle a zero it must be 9

try it circle a zero and the computer will guess 9
