I'm not too sure if that applies to sandwiches/bagels/etc, because all the cops that used to come in would just get a couple of coffees and the occasional donut or muffin.
lol maybe they come to the store more often and are seen around the area more often.

cops should pay, they are normal ppl that get paid to work. And to the ppl that say that they save lives...this and that. Thats the choice they made when they became a cop. How come timmies dont give road workers free timmies?? without roads we wouldnt be able to drive :P:

Despite the fact that their job is dangerous and that they put ricers in their place, they shouldn't be entitled to free/discounted food/goods.

They are not entitled to anything, but if a store/restaurant chooses to give them free stuff then why not.

Some of you guys are such cop haters who think all they do is bust people for dumb tickets. Big deal. Don't drive like an *** and you won't get busted. Sure in the GTA they have specialized units just for traffic enforcement, but in a smaller community like Hamilton, you have to be doing soemthing very dumb to get pulled over. That whole "I got pulled over for nothing" story is so lame. Most older cops like my dad were way to lazy to writ stupid tickets.

Why don't you sign up for a ride-along and see how diffacult their jobs can be.

Ya, but it's not like they go in there and just take stuff..
Technically they're not allowed to recieve free things, but if they go in for a coffee and they're about to pay and the guy/girl says "don't worry about it" then that's it, they offered to pay and they got it for free...obvioulsy they're not suppose to always accpet things for free every single time, but oh well

Most people who even do that, but will still come on here and say they're job is one of the easiest out there

if i was a cop I would want free timmys too...so, if they're getting free coffee then good for them

if you think that's an injustice... a doctor makes about $250,000 per year...eric lindros used to make 3 million a year

thats life..

like said above. they dont take it, they are given that.

if you had a friend working at tim hortons and they hooked you up with free stuff.. would you refuse it cause it isnt fair? i certainly think not.

if the places choose to do so then everything is okay.
if the cops pretty much threaten or do anyhting to try to get themselves free stuff then its a different story.

Officers put thier hands in thier pockets in order to show the attendant that they are prepared to pay in the case that the person charges them.

I totally agree with Mike that there are a lot of police haters here.

The only reason for that is because people drive like morons and expect not to get pulled over

Its a privately owned company it has nothing to do with a form of gov't in any way where the public has a say as to what they should do and what they should not do.
leave it at what it is...
i dont see how an essential needs worker getting anything for free affects you in any way. What you wanna get a free coffee and donut just like them that totals retail 1.80 and less than 50 cent whole sale? seriously. rather then putting windshield wiper nozzles with LED's on your car maybe you should save that 20 dollar mod and next time be able to go into timmies and be actually able to pay for the food.
some people act like some hardcore bum's.

i don't actually think they were going to pay... i mean, usually ppl will have their wallets out or holding bill/change.... but all of them would wait to the last sec and dig their hands in their pocket.

should have been a cop then..... would save soooo much coffee money.

lol its nothing did you know it costs tim hortons 12 cents a packet or something stupid like that for the coffee. and they charge you at least $1.10 for small... its nothing, we dump pots of coffee all the time...

And the thing about it being a thanks to the community is true. thats exactly what it is. i live in a small town and everyone pretty much knows everyone... cops are friendly here, and to me its a small token of respect..

plus most of them are hot
