just a piece of advice to you cuz u seem young. Lose the knife immediately. Dont carry weapons around. Chances are, the weapons you carry are the ones that are going to get you killed.
What were you gonna do if he went nuts and charged you cuz u pulled a knife out on him and his kids? Stab him?
Its a bad situation either way cuz:
1) you stab him and go jail = stupid for everyone
2) he takes your weapon from you and stabs u = stupid for everyone
3) he beats your *** and you still get in trouble cuz your the one with the weapon threatening the old guy with kids ( who do you think the cops will believe?) = you get beats, he gets off.
EITHER WAY FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY, LOSE THE KNIFE.
