I'm in windsor now, and i need to go over to detroit to check out some stores. i havnt crossed the border in like 7 years. Has anything changed?, i heard that you need a passport now, is that true or can i still cross with a Ontario Drivers licence? i dont have anyother id, cause im here on work for a few weeks.

i just use my drivers liscense when i go over.....one thing you don't wanna do though is get caught hiding a bottle of vodka and cartons of marlboros in the back of ur corvette!>..lol...not talking from personal experience or anything...=D

you can still use your citizen card but in 08 you'll be needing your passport to crosss

so they still search your vehical? i remember when i use to go, we would always get pulled over and a team of border gaurds would come and search the entire car.

they never searched my car when i was driving my dads volvo back in the day but the second i crossed the border with my buddy in a corvette they searched the ENTIRE car, like even under the carpet and crap in the back.......i don't dare take my civic across the border...lol

i live in leamington, like 30 min from windsor, just crossed twice last week, dont need a passport, just birth cirtificate. sometimes they ask for ownership. also they charge you once each way but only 4 bucks.
