Cujo = Gone..
Take a look for yourself..

If you're gonna say 'it's only a report', that dude in the article says that Joseph won't be signing with Toronto. Silly Toronto with their tight budget, every hockey analyst's show I've seen says that Toronto has almost an unlimited budget to work with; yet Toronto feels they have no money to spend.
Guess we'll have to see what unfolds in the next couple of weeks, but one thing for sure, without a real goaltender they're not going too far..

actually, toronto offered him more money than detroit.... toronto offered him 3 yrs @ 26mil. detroit 3yrs at 24mil....
the dude wants a cup, and to him, detroit is a better chance.... he's old and doesnt got a ring... i think almost everyone knew this would happen, but really jsut didnt want to admit it to themselves.... o well, i woulda liked to see him stay, but its his decision.

Toronto already signed Ed Belfour to a two year contract..
That should be exciting *sarcasm*...
IMO Belfour is an old washed up goalie with a bit of luck.. But that's just my opinion. He's about 10 years removed from his prime and good days. The only reason he did decent a few years ago in Dallas is because of his supporting cast, one of the best defensive teams..
Anyways, the leafs will have to do a lot of shopping in order to make up for the downgrade in goaltending..

I totally agree with you, Roger.
Dafoe backstopped the Bruins to the Eastern conference reg. season title. What was Belfour doing? Backing up some rookie goaltender..
Not to be a ******** or anything, I kinda respect why Joseph made his decision. But I'd love to see Detroit get knocked out in the first round and the Leafs win the cup next year.. We'll see what happens.

Belfour: Not like what he used to be.
Dafoe: Groin problems...if he get's hurt again, we can't really rely on Schwab the rest of the season.
Irbe: Too small.
Cujo: Deserves a Stanley Cup
by the way, I think the Leafs first game next season is against Detroit. Hmmmm? Not sure if it's here, or in Hockeytown. But if it's here, that game should be an interesting one.

No big loss in CUJO in my opinion. Sure he had an awesome last 2 games in the playoffs but was only mediocre for the rest of the dozen plus games.
Dont understand why we'd sign Belfour. He's not even that good of a goalie and he cant control his temper. He definitely wont be setting a good example for the leafs, which is not good considering we have the likes of Tucker and Corson. So many other goalies out there that are better than him. Hell, they should've given Schwab a shot at number one goalie.

Who cares. Joseph has never won anything and won't in Detroit either. The Leafs are again in their annual re-building stage cause Stavro wnats to keep the money and not put it into the team.
I am loosing interest in hckey every day and listening to these millionaire cry babies is just making it worse, They are starting to sound like baseball players.

Where is Allan Bester when you need him ?
Belfour is every bit as good as Joseph, he might be a litte older but in the NHL the older, experienced goalies are the dominant ones. look at Hasek and Roy. Plus belfour has own a cup, so he knows what it takes. I would have preferred cujo to stay only cuz he's been here for a long time and won way too many games on his own. But we've got ourselves a pretty good replacement, at a cheaper price... and in 2 years Telqvist should be ready.
As for the money, I think $8-9 million isn't out of the quesiton for cujp, considering the Leafs an dother teams were prepared to throw 8.5 mil a year over 5 years at Holik... who ended up signing with the Rangers. Holik is awesome, but he's no Sundin.
