Damn Bikers!!!

This sounds really mean, but.... whatever.

Tonight my dad and I were invited to a dinner party. We decided to take my car, and off we went around 9pm. It was a poor lit area, and this kid on a bicycle was tottling along on the side of the road.. then he got in front of me, and wouldn't move out of the way. I couldn't pass him, because he was dead smack in the middle of the road.

So I flicked my high beams on him a few times, but no reponce. I got a little irritated so I honked a horn at him and he finally moved away. My dad was really pissed at this kid, so he opened the window and waved his fist at him. So what does he do? As we stopped at the stop sign and starting going again, he cuts us off (on his bicyle too) and gives us the bird.

I was like **** this ****, so I gunned it and tried to intimedate him with my car. My dad says to me "get closer, get closer".. so I did.. he opened the window and shoved the kid over!! HAHAHA it was the funniest **** I ever saw! I saw the whole thing thru the mirror--his bike swiveled left to right, then he came crashing down on the road as he fell of the bike and landed face first! HAHAHA.. then we drove off.

What this kid was doing ******* with two guys in a vehicle, I have no idea. And riding in middle of a dark road, going at a snail's pace... could've got run over.

YAAA Umm That's not really nice. I know it might have been funny (Something out of a Movie) But hurting someone for just riding a bike doesn't seem to cool.

Sory just my $.02

**** that. this kid should feel lucky he didn't get the **** beat out of him. What was just was just and fair no unnecessary abuse or violence was used. You pushed him he fell over, done.
Game over. He fucked with you on purpose a little shove was the least you could do. Some people would have gotten out of the car and beeeeeet this kid.

I say the punishment was fair and just.

I konw that what this kid did was very irritating, and well I would have been pissed off too. However in the eyes of the law he has as much right to the road as you do, and if he was seriously hurt you could be charged. It is not really worth the aggrevation for you. I know I had an episode on Wed evening where I was so angry at this b@tch that I swerved my car towards hers, to scare the crap out of her. That was a really stupid move on my part.

That is kinda funny however a few people on here are right in regards to the law and its views on this.

Another thing you need to be careful of is what would have happened had you pushed that kid over, laughed and driven away, the kid gets back up, chases you down at the next stop light, puts a 9mm to your old mans head through the window and pulls the trigger.

Life all of a sudden doesn't seem that funny anymore does it?

You gotta be really careful when you are messin around with people on the streets like that..

I know I know "How many people do YOU know that carry a 9"...

Well, to be honest, more then you would think or like to admit and no I'm not talking about friends of mine that are on the Police Force either. Granted, they are not 12 year old kids peddlin their bikes around town either.

Regards,
OK

living downtown... there are bikers everywhere... and yeah... some of them think they own the road... but hey..there are people in cars that are like that too....

even if he was in the middle.... couldn't you have driven around him?
IMO pushing him wasn't smart....what if he looked up... got your licence plate... and is now going to sue you for "injuries"

pushing him wasn't smart

Well, sure, it wasn't SMART thing to do.

But anyone with half a brain would apologize for lingering on the middle of the road. I mean, it was a WIDE road, one lane, but big enough to fit 2-3 cars. Yet he was dead smacked in the middle.

Then he gave us a finger! What's up with that. I'm not gonna take that **** from a little 16 year old brat.

Doubt he had a gun or anything though. This happened in a little town, where the worst crime of the month is somebody getting busted with a radar detector (my friend made it on the front page of the town paper).

If I hadn't pushed him out of the way, and just swirved to the opposite lane and passed him, he could've got hit by the next car. Black jacket, black bike, no reflectors??? Come on. I pratically saved his life.

Was it mean? Yeah, it was. Was he hurt? Probably. But nothing life threatening, he will have scabs on his knees and elbow and maybe his face for the rest of the week. Did he learn his lesson? Absolutely!

As far as his rights to the road go... well... I can go 60km/h on the QEW, on the passing lane. And you know what? It is legal. It's not curtious, but I could do it. But I wouldn't do that ****, because it's right down dangerous and casues havok. Of course, if I did that, and then I got rear ended by a trailer truck, i would have no one to blame but myself. Law might say it's the truck's fault, but come on--who was being stupid?

Actually no, you couldn't

See, the good thing about the law is that they have backup charges for just about anything out there.

For instance, there is no charge under the HTA (that I am aware of) for going UNDER the speed limit, however you can be charged with wreckless driving, mischief and numerous other criminal charges.

Almost without exception the law has a backup either criminal or civil in nature.

In fact, every law necessary to prosecute can be found within the Criminal Code of Canada. Every charge except one, which is contempt of court and the only reason that isn't written is simply because there are a million varations in which this can occure.

Anyways, legal lesson is over.. I'm done ranting

Regards,
OK

Better hope that kid didn't get your plate........let's say he did, and reported it.........his word against your's, ok. Down the road, you do something stupid like, speed up to cut someone off, and a cop see's this......well that little pushing incident might just come back to haunt you. it would prove to the officer that you might have criminal intent in your blood. (they keep the report on record). Instead of an "unsafe lane chage" he might hit you with "dangerous driving".(court date/fine/displinary action to be determined in court) I can't help but wonder what your dad was thinking!
That's my 2c's.

first off, the kid DID move over when you honked did he not?? i think he only flipped you the finger cuz your dad shaked his fist at him.

sure what the kid was doing wasnt right by hogging the road. but that doesnt give you the right to assault him like that. just hope he didnt get your plate #.

Yep, he moved alright...

It wasn't him giving me the finger--it was him intensionally cutting me off, then forcing me to brake. That's why we pushed him. If he just gave us a finger, the most I would've done was intemediate him.

What would you do if somebody cuts you off?

I doubt you're just going to sit there and pretend nothing happened.

If I was pissed enough to push over a hells angels guy...

I wouldn't be pushing him over, I would do something vicious enough so it wouldn't come back to me.

Why are you talking about Hells Angels for anyway?

if someone cut me off, yes i'd be pissed but no i wouldnt get out of the car and smash the guy's face into the ground unless he initiated something physical first.

this type of attitude is exactly why road rage is such a big problem these days. everyone's f*ckin over-reacting.
