day 1 of TTC travel

wow I had forgotten how nice the Subway was... seriously no traffic to worry about I can sleep if I wanted too (a big plus over driving a car) and There's nice chicks to look at when I don't want to sleep

anyways I was walking into work and I spotted a TCC member's car a grey SIR coupe parked at the Golden Lion Dance hall. who are you? do you work there full time? and do you drive from scarborough? if so do you want to car pool since I work around the corner....

during business hours public transit in big cities is pretty good... like 7-9AM and 4-5 PM it's pretty good in Ottawa, but outside of those hours, when ppl arent' commuting to work, you get all the hobos, jobless, smelly immigrants, etc, etc... that's when transit sucks the most. at least in Ottawa... in Windsor, it sucks all the time... everyone with a job has a car, so there are usually poor and crazy ppl on the bus.

My condolences for your having to ride the TTC

I did it once when my car was in the shop and never again. I work downtown (in fact right beside a subway station) and yet I still drive in every day from Scarborough and pay over $100 a month for parking. I prefer the comfort of my own car (even though traffic is crap most of the time) and not having to deal with being packed into a train like a sardine with loud obnoxious kids, stinky people, etc.

Blah.. Up north they only have buses! most of which are occupied by handicapped people who cannot drive due to brain problems and smelly cheap people who collect bags. The public transit system here sucks and if you really want to get to places, you drive.

I'm stuck taking public transportation to school, I dispise the subway, its funky but I use it from union to dundas in the morning then I walk back. Plus I take the Go-Train from Dixie to Union, but the go-train is sweet, nice seats and the crowd is better lol

I sometimes think 10 minutes to get to work is too much, and that includes my daily stop at tim hortons for real, I live like maybe a 1/2 hour walk from work, but I drive cuz I can't get up early enough to work. I'd like to bike, except I don't own a bike... I can't justify spending a grand or so on a bike... so I'd rather not own one.

TCC?

I only take the TCC if I'm going to go see a game at the ACC, and I don't want to pay for parking.

leg 1: street car across king street to the station, then up to eglinton station. 40mins

leg 2: eglinton station to kipling, then bus down to lakeshore 1.5hrs

leg 3: 501 street car across lakeshore, across queen past yonge, then down jarvis to king. 1.5hrs

whereas i could jus drive up jarvis/mountpleasant to skool. then back down, and across lakeshore /gardiner to humber. finally back across lakeshore/gardiner to home (king and jarvis)
