i dont think of it as a girly car since things can be done to give it a pretty mean look

i would say its a pretty ****ty first car because number 1, they're expensive to buy (and i dont know why)...and number 2, insurance!

you should probably think the purchase through before you jump out and buy one...but you're 15 so all i suggest now is start saving as much money as you can so you're ready for the wallet raping world of driving.

projects like that always turn out like *** when you're that young...depending on the shape of the car that could easily go over 10,000

buy a nice car off the bat and start with a real platform..get something with low clicks, and a body with no rust...that way you dont have to start dishing out money, it sounds good now but when you're actually doing it you wont want to be dropping thousands at a time....you've gotta pay insurance on this thing remember.

no matter what you do, it's a girls car.
motor swaps and bosy kits don't take away from it's femininity.

10 grand is bum change for the thing this guy wants to do.

sin-city you are a young guy and dont know enough about how things work so i will break it down quickly so you dont get screwed over.

dont bother buying a beat up car that has rust like crazy, high km, etc etc...and then expect to spend 10 g's to make it crazy.

its not going to happen.

just to do the bodywork will cost you 5 grand easily since u want to kit it out and make it look like the other del sol u posted.

motor with high km means change needed which means another 2 grand minimum

suspension components take alot of wear with high km cars so thats another 2 grand

then lets not forget interior wear and tear, misc parts etc.
by the time all said and done u will spend easily 20 grand if you want it looking good.

my advice is forget about this car **** and study and graduate first. you dont need a modified car for grade 11.

if you had money and money wasnt an issue then i wouldnt say this but u obviously dont have the money so i am warning you ahead of time.

crx

buy a crx it is a better starter car and u can potentially make money if u buy a solid rust free car and clean it and mod it just rite

Also since u like body kits ( i do 2 ) crx kits are generally cheaper and easier 2 come by

crazy kids..? immature..? prejudice anyone..? cmon now.. i have my priorities set out, i HAVE a job, i'm getting my license, i am going to university, and plan to make it waterloo, and hopefully will find a well paying full time job.. you let me worry about where im putting my money, thanks.

but ruckus, i've already looked into most costs, my bro drives an eg, and most his friends i'm cools with, and i know that if he doesnt have connections himself, his friends do. its not going to cost me any where near 5 grand for the body work, and dont worry, im not gonna go buy a beaten up sol. im gonna shop around and spend my money wisely.

10 grand was just a throw out, thats not including any money from my parents, whom bought my sister a 7,000 dollar car, so i don't expect them to help me, but if they offer it, i have more money there, plus i plan on working a lot more come summer time. im not worrying too much on this, im still saving up for my education, and i've had a university fund set up for a long time now with my paps, its doing well, possibly i'll get my marks up in time for scholarships and burseries. just wish me luck, i've made up mind on the hole del sol issue, if you wanna call it feminin, so be it call me a girl, all i know is im gonna have a hell of fun in a 2 seater with a targa top

thanks for everyones input.

i actually usually wouldnt like body kits, but the buddy club just seems to match that sol so nicely, i dont see why i would go with a lip kit, if i had a civic, lip kit all the way if not stock. thanks

i'm going to have to agree with everybody else.

We've ALL been there. No offense to you, and kids your age are very stubborn and only think one way. But you will regret buying a cheap beaten up sol when you have to cough up 1000$ to certify it.

I'd rather spend the extra few grand and buy one that is in good shape so you have a good platform. Like I said, we've all been there before, atleast consider our advice instead of thinking of it as insulting.

wow lol.. well, i never insulted anyone other than the moo guy... he decided to say that kids are immature these days.. had he said it politely, i would have been nice and taken his opinion, what goes around comes around. <-- karma.

so no i didnt insult anyone, and if you had read like 2 posts before where you stand, you could have seen that i said i was with Rukus on the fact taht a beaten up sol would be no good, or any car at that
