D16 is definitly a more cost effective engine in every way...

I don't think that is totally true, and have heard the opposite. I know of two people that had to replace their Y8 engines, one of them twice.

Exactly take me for instance ... my Y8 only lasted up to around 230kms before it started burning a lot of oil,etc and it was dealer serviced and every interval. SO they aren't bulletproof. Sure what was posted in the media section was great, but you think you'd be able to use that motor as a daily driver afterwards? Probably not

I really suggest you change what you just wrote..You want to do something you have no idea of how it looks? Don't follow the bandwagon..

My d16Y8 was pushed hard and it was revved to 7200 everyday I drove it. 3.3 L in, 3.0 L every oilchange.

The only thing that went due to aggressive driving was tranny/axle seal.

I don't know maybe it depends on driver too. Some people don't use their clutch properly. Some don't change their oil on time. I think the D16Y8 is worth the money. Especially if you are building it.

the B16 was MADE to rev. Rev hard. Rev high. Won't hurt it, it was meant to be raced. Sure it has wear and tear, but you don't use a B16 for 3-4000 rpms.

We can agree that both engines are great right?

Oh and I serviced my engine often. Often times I did the work. I made sure I knew my way around the engine and maybe I took care of it more than usual. "You can say that I knew my car well. AND the motor has been transplanted into my friends EG. Still going strong. My guess is it is gonna go to half a million.

The new Si is very impressive.
