do you warn oncoming traffic of police

driving down mccowan last night, an oncoming car flashes his/her high driving down the street, and just down the street a popo was camping for speeders.

just wondering if this is some unwritten rule and does anyone do it?

ya i think everyone just knows what the flashing headlights mean, either that or its night time and you have no lights on...then you'll get flashed to.

i never flash people to warn them i'd rather they get a ticket for speeding instead of feeling they just got lucky and once they pass the cop just continue to speed

I've always known about the flashing high beams thing.

All the drivers I know in person know about it. My friends, and my family.

I never do it...if someone's being a retard and speeding like a maniac they deserve to be caught for being so stupid...plus it's more laughs for me.

going 80 in a 60 at 2am on a straight 4lane street doesnt constitute speeding like a manic, IMO

I've never done it because I've never really noticed them haha. I would always see them at the last minute, so it's not even a reaction for me. I'm not a speeder, anymore, so I just follow the rules and give the police the respect they deserve. I know someone who's just about to become a cop soon, so maybe that's why I've realized the importance of their duties, and it hits home.

People have let me know, and I always appreciate it.

I had three people warn me of OPP on my way back to Petawawa tonight. I wasn't mad speeding ie. 100km/h in a 80km/h zone.

I do it most of time to return the favour.

illegal yeah of course

where does everyone get this fact thats it's illegal to high beam someone as a warning of whats happening ahead...

hell I do it all the time .. and if I see someone acting like an idiot I'll do it even if there is no speed trap...

I don't see speed traps, and I never pay attention to any of them.
