don't drink and drive

I am making this post because it is a serious issue. I know we all love to have fun and with that comes driving in our cars, or hitting the clubs which of course includes the consumption of alcohol. However, please think twice before you do this. My mom was hit by a drunk driver who sped through a red light two nights ago. She is currently in the hospital with a concussion, 3 broken ribs, a broken left arm and leg, as well as a broken jaw. I am not posting this for sympathy but for knowledge. My 8 year old cousin was in the car with her and is currently in the hospital. She only suffered a broken arm and a bruised tailbone, but much worse could have happened. Please think about what you are about to do before driving drunk. You always hear about this stuff happening but it never really matters until it hits home.

thanks well it could have been worse, and i just don't want to see that happen to anyone else's family. i've spent that last two days at the hospital until they kicked me out when visitation hours were over.

Soory to hear that. My Dad passed away thsi past week, so I kinda know how you feel.

What happened to the other driver (the drunk)?
What hospital are they in? My wife is an ER Nurse.

Oh Kerrie, please edit out the "racing" reference from your post.

Sorry to hear about your family's misfortune, all the best for their recovery.

On a side note, though inmature my thoughts would lead to being tempted to break the drivers other leg. Hopefully justice will prevail in the courts and your family will not suffer any long term effects.

My best wishes to you and your family Kerrie. I hope everything turns out OK and the driver gets what he deserves. Not a nice way to spend Mothers Day.

I feel the need to update my sig.
