I could open up the bible and pull out some pretty harsh passages supporting pretty much anything i want. This doesn't make them ture or that all people of a certian religion feel this way. Have you ever read the bible? I've read the 1st to books (even though i don't consider myself christian) and if we took the statements in there at face value....

I have known many persons of many religions (Muslims, Catholics, Christians, Jewish, ect.) and I can tell you that all of them are decent law abiding citizens who respect their fellow man and the world around them. That is why I do not choose to judge anyone of any religion. Person's should always be judged by their own actions.
I believe that everyone has the right to believe and practice their religion. I may not be of any religion personally, and I believe in it being a personal choice of an individual.
I condemn anyone (this is directed to only indivduals not a religion) who does not respect my person or property in the name of any religion. I condemn those who hurt defenseless people in the name of religion. These are the villians (the individuals), who impose fear in society, and change my ability to operate.

Wow people really do need to relax.
Who cares what the bible says or the kuran (sp?) or whatever other religious book says.
Seriously people are wayyyyyyy to concerned about defending their religions and beliefs without being able to properly translate it or interpret it.
The ultimate question should be.....
Has anyone seen this "GOD" this "MUHAMMED" this "GANESH" this "BUDDAH" character thats in the books or scrolls or whatever? NO .....and until YOU DO to me its just a novel you read and say your two cents about it and move on with your life.
If religion is breaking people up then whats the point of it? Doesnt every religion say something about respecting other religions and other humans.
IMO FUKK BUSH thats the real person everyone should be talking about.

the problem with religion is people. God is fine, its the people who screw things up because they interpret things in the ways they want instead of how God intended. from what i understand the God of muslims, the God of the jews and the God of Christians are the same God. what i noticed is that the general muslim population more devout in their faith than the other 2. not to slam the other 2 but its seems true.

Mischev, feel free to speak to me openly.
if you want to show respect, show honesty before deceit to make comments sound more respectful.
i do not go by what any book says, i go by what i see, hear, touch, taste, and smell. I know for a fact that women are oppressed in all muslim societies and cultures that I am aware of.
Actions speak louder than words.
I have no love for any religion, nor do I have any love for any society. So don't think I feel ways about one group more so than another. It's all good.
No matter where you go, people will do evil.

If religion is needed, then I believe it was made for the sole purpose of good intension.
In my own understanding and interpretation, religions were created to educate those who lived thousands of years ago, with no modern technologies or understandings of why things are the way they are. Religion was made and introduced to control people, to reach a calm. If you believed that praying to God would make the rain stop so the flooding could end; or pray to God for rain when you need it, then how hard is it for you to live your entire life based on the teaching of a book?
But the religions were created to teach people to believe in the goodness of others, and then it was documented and coded for the latter to follow and carry on to the coming generations.
The world had many religions because the continents were separated. If you couldn’t travel beyond then land you lived in, then that land is the world to you. Until different races, tribes, and nations collided into one another, that’s when they realized that the “world” is bigger than what they perceived it to be.
Then various religions were introduced upon those who had no understanding of how things work. If they couldn’t figure out why people get sick but a missionary preached to them that praying will heal the sickness, they will do so.
What’s next?
One religious group fought another in the name of their own God because they couldn’t believe that there were other religions created other than the one of their own. To convert the other group, to educate the “uncivilized” ones; or to pulverize it.
This happened when people though earth was flat.
Why must modern human being need to have faith and believe in the goodness of people by following the teaching of a book? Why can’t we teach our children to be good and kind to others just because this is the right thing to do, not because the book tells us to love our neighbours?
I picked up a trash after someone who missed the shot yesterday, while I watched dozens of people walked passed and some even witnessed what happened. Then I came forward, picked it up and put it where it belonged.
I guess religion doesn’t teach people to put trash in the waste receptacle when they see one on the street. Oh wait a minute, there were no street back in the days.

anyone who is good solely out of fear of a being is not good at all.
helping others to reserve a spot for yourself in heaven or valhalla or whatever is really only helping yourself.
"or you'll go to hell" is the motivation for human garbage... then again killing for virgin's in the afterlife is worse.

yeah I saw that on CNN... What I don't get is Israel isn't involved in the publication of the cartoons in the first place. so why would they try to target them... they should target Danish and (since this is religious and most Danish are Christians of a sort) Christians...

Freedom of press and speech is NO WAY equal to dis-respect for any religion...period
While it is disturbing to see the protests getting a little too far but the non-muslim nations (specially the west) have not really tried to find a real solution to this problem. It basically serves their (US in particular) political purpose to provoke more unrest and instability throughout the world.
Those of you who on this thread who tried to link the muslim social beliefs and cultural values to this recent event are being ignorant and are advocating the devil. There is no link between the two at all. Its just that at large, muslims are more religious than any other group out there...cuz if you put a cartoon of jesus in a defamatory context, there wouldnt be this much protest.
Team Rukus....i havent agreed with you much in the past but i must say that i 100% agree with you on the fact that its the as*hole BUSH who is the root of all evil in the world today.
Peace guys...
