dsl questions

hey guys, just wondering some things about dsl... does anyone know any good dsl home internet services other than sympatico, and can you have dsl without having a home phone number?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I have DSL w/o paying for a home phone line.

Basicly you still get a home number that can only call 911 and use dsl. I know Bell Canada offers that.

everything is capped... dsl's is just worse. If there weren't any caps, whoever logged on at the perfect time would dominate the bandwidth of the network... dont buy into dsl's "not shared" argument...

everything is shared somewhere

a cap is a Mbps (speed) restriction, not a total quantity restriction...

im confused, all im saying is that if i were to download 60GBs on sympatico i wouldnt get charged. If i download 60GBs on cegeco i would have to pay more. Is there anything else to it?

and all im saying is a cap is something that restricts the speed of your download. Dsl is more restricted than cable is. That means that if you have cable, you can download stuff faster than you can with DSL.
