You can pick up graphic cards with dual VGA/DVI for pretty cheap . $40'ish. Would be better to go that route.

Not all single VGA video cards will support dual video.

I'm pretty sure that was mentioned before you recommended the Matrox solution.

Maybe the salesman inside of you was speaking

Yes, new dual video cards will come with two DVI ports. But video cards with the two VGA ports are still floating around, they were hard to find as they are based on older technology but I sold a few not too long ago.

The video card in my work PC has one DVI port and one VGA port. Each port connects to a separate display.

I have a Dual video card in my home PC. DVI port#1 goes to Monitor #1, DVI port#2 goes to Monitor #2. It all boils down to the design of the video card.

It's a built hp.

I'm almost positive it supports dual monitor setup but does not have two vga ports

He said that he think's it support dual video. If the card doesn't, by using the splitter all he's going to get is the same image on both screens.

Most single VGA video card's I've seen are single video cards only. I could be wrong. There is no way to tell unless zyepher can provide the video card make and model.

He said he thinks it does. He didn't say I have a dual display video card with one VGA port, how do I connect it up to two monitors?

I hope I'm wrong and all he needs is a splitter, but i have not seen too many single VGA video card that are actually dual display video cards.

When you boot your PC, do you get a bios screen showing any video card info?

My pc is probably on 24/7 since in 1972.

I searched awhile and i'm almost 100% sure it was capable because I was so frustrated that it was capable but only had one vga input

:And that's all you can do when you split a VGA output. The card has no way of addressing the two monitors separately without there being two outputs. I have seen some cards with a proprietary output that you attach a cable that *looks* like what you posted, but its not a simple VGA splitter. That setup lets the computer address the monitors separately as if they were two VGA ports on the back of the card. They're just combining two display outputs into one connector because of the low profile card."
