i run two at work on vista. i tired the spliter and it didnt work so i got a better video card

form reading your previous post, it seems to me that your card does not support dual display.

also, dual display with extent your existing desktop onto a 2nd monitor and that is what you want according to your OP.

but if you want 2 different display on 2 different screens then you must have 2 out puts.
