So I see how it works.

Quick, some Civic driver set himself on fire so the police will stop bothering them.

F@cking farmers...why the hell are the police letting them drive tractors on our highways? Last time I heard it's illegal to drive farm equipment down the 401. I don't pay taxes to let unhappy workers cause traffic jams. Also, I have to drive past Queen's Park on my way home. Looks like my commute will take a little longer than usual. Thank you Old Macdonald.

1. if they have these numbers... why not get together and jack up the prices in protest. it's not illegal, and it'll be a good way of showing the government they have power when banded together.

2. the guy who set himself on fire... wicked!!! i wish that kind of ish happened around my house all the time... why should police care if the guy lights himself on fire... seriously... if someone poured gasoline on themselves and their car and was making a big fuss... and i wanted them to shut up.. i might even throw my lighter... he's threatening me with it... i'll make it happen... if you put yourself in such a stupid situation, you deserve to die.. i don't care if you're "crazy".. people have told me i am crazy my whole life.. I don't do ish like this.

Good one guys stupid idiots.. and if u keep watchin u see that he surrenders and drops the knives .. and again our brilliant police force thinks HEY get him now hes unarmed and they pepper spray him .. hmmm maybe they shoulda tried that when he had the knives .. man i dont get where all this time in training goes case as far as i see they are too puss to do anything other than shoot / taze / and ram **** ...

That is actually illegal. It's called price fixing.

kane2k, increased costs... they can raise their prices... they would be stupid to get together in rented halls to have meetings. if a few do it, the rest would follow suit... better to charge more and sell less.. then waste your time driving a tractor on the highway.

joonya, did you really read what i wrote? I THINK THE POLICE SHOULD HAVE SHOT THE GUY WHO LIT HIMSELF TOO. WHO CARES. LET THESE PEOPLE DROP DEAD.

OMFG, plz don't say things you know nothing about.

In economic theory, farmers are used in most cases as example of a 'perfect competition' industry. ie. there is no percievable difference in their product, there is nothing to differentiate their product from one farm to the next. therefore, he who has the lowest price captures 100% of the market. those stupid enough to raise their prices will have 100% of their stock left, and will have sold a quantity of ZERO and therefore have ZERO revenue. This is why in cases of perfect competition P=MC=MR which means price=marginal revenue=marginal cost and THIS is the price and quantity that the farmers will produce. this is true of the industry as well as each individual farmer. of course, this means zero ECONOMIC profit, in other words, there will be just enough income for the farmer to stay in the industry and not wanna leave to go do something else when the industry is at market equilibrium. there are times of adjustment where there MAY be economic profit or loss when the market is not in equilibrium, such as time of adverse weather or unexpected shifts in demand (such as mad cow disease was).

So yeah, w/o price fixing (which is illegal) each of these bastards on his own is screwed.

i think they actually had no other choice but to ram him with the car where it's save, now put yourself in the cop's shoe's, someguy has 2 butcher knives, and your telling me your just going to walk up to him and pepper-spray him, hell i have a family i want to be alive for and don't want to risk it because some crazy f*cktard. he could have easily thrown one knife at you (hitting or missing you is still a chance i'm not taking) and he would still be equiped with the other knife. the only thing that would have been useful in that situation would be a taser with the shooting prongs, but toronto cops don't use them. hell i think they did an excellent job of the situation, hell i even laughed my *** off when the retard got owned.
