Question DVD to VCD copier.

I want to know what the easiest DVD to VCD copier there is out there.

I want a simple to use program, that will allow me to copy a DVD, and burn it to a VCD. I really don't care about the menu's....only the movie will be fine.

I want to use it to back up my DVD's, so when I have kids one day, they won't wreck the originals.

I want an all-in-one program, and not 2 or 3 seperate programs.

It also has to be FREE. (not some demo piece of crap).

Post away people. :working:

PS. You can also PM me the info if you want.

I don't think there is a program that alows you to do that in one step, unless one of those programs that you have to buy! lol!

but here is a link to the whole dvd converting stuff
http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdripping

oh, and there are couple things to remember! it take an endless amount of time to do it! and since it sucks all ur CPU power u virtually can't do anything with ur pc while ur ripping! some times takes 7-24 hours depending on ur CPU!

and find out if the DVD player that u wanna play stuff on supports SVCDS! if they do rip the dvds to SVCD, better quallity that VCD!!
if you don't know if it does support you can check it out here:

http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers

the programs used in the guide are mostly free and there is a download link right in the guide! but if you found something that u have to pay for there is always suprnova.org or just drop me a line. (So i can yell at u for stealing softwear )

hope it helps, let me know if u need any help!

just get a dvd writer ($130), some blank dvds (25pack $30) and dvd x copy express...better quality than mpeg based vcds, u can retain all menus and special features and will work in almost all dvd players including newer ps2s

Remember, a CDR disc costs around 25 cents each. I only want it so I can take them to work, so I can watch them durring my lunch breaks. That way, if it gets damaged or lost, or if I happen to accidenaly let someone use it, and they don't give it back, it won't be that big of a deal.

The kid thing is also another reason.

I have DVD X Copy Platinum, but I was looking for an all in one program if possible. Rigt now I'm using DVD Sqeeze to reduce the size to fit the CDR's, but would rather have a faster 1 or 2 set process.

I only use the DVD discs for backing up import family stuff. Not wotrh it for regular movies.
