Romania was never part of the USSR, but rather part of the so called "Eastern Block" of countries, which included Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, East Germany, Albania, and Czechoslovakia (currently the Czech Republic and Slovakia).

The countries that were part of the USSR (in Europe) were Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, and the Baltic countries.

The peculiar thing about Romania is that even though bordered by countries who speak Slavic languages (Bulgaria, Serbia, Ukraine), and Uralic languages spoken in Hungary, it is the only country in Easter Europe to speak a Latin language. That is because it was conquered in 106 AD by the Romans.

Sorry, this is WAY off topic, but I thought since you've asked I should reply.

Who said this forum is only about Honda Civics?

Russia wins 2-0.
Come on, if they couldn't beat Italy when Italy was missing 3 of their star players, they have no chance against Russia.
