Ex Bf's Birthday

Ex Bf's Birthday
So its my ex boyfriends birthday today. We dated for 4 years, were engaged and then broke up for common reasons. We are still really good friends and have common friends. So I'm wondering what I should get him.. if anything at all. I was thinking something casual like buy him a lap dance and a beer when we all meet up tonight at the rippers? Is that so bad? or should I just stay away in general?

You had a very serious relationship and are still firends, so you should make sure to aknowledge his birthday in one way or another. But don't go out of your way. Do what you would expect him to do on your birthday.

No gifts, no nothing. This would be the first birthday after the break up, I think no gifts. If you are able to remain good friends for a long long time, then maybe start buying something after 3 or 4 years.
Buying lap dance, to me, is almost insulting. He would rather see you dance naked than some other ho. It is not like he is 17 and dieing to check out some ******* and ***. A drink is good enough.

I say at the maximum a beer, I'd even say nothing at all...ah the good old bday's and former interests coming out and cheating on their current bf's with you randomly...
but seriously when will people ever realise that you can not be friends after...and if you some how can without any weirdness then there was zero connection in the first place. Jsut move on and next them, but it is hard with mutual friends.
