As a side note, I WAS going to get one as a winter beater, but I didn't want to take the chance of the thing breaking down.

I'd rather push my Honda, than drive that VW.

First of all........it's PULOVR......not pulover.

I guess you didn't read/see my post..............

did you see these?--------------------->

Sorry. I don't drink.

I could go into a long winded rant on the reasons why I dislike VW. ie.........why they used really thin wires that seem to break in all their cars upto 1996.........or the fact that the the VW had problems with the seal of the gaskets in their engines, or that most Passats have trouble with their brake systems....ie warped rotors.........or...........should I go on?

I have seen alot of problems with the whole VW line over the years. (and they are still suffering from those mistakes) They only made one car that stood the test of time, and that car was brough into being by someone infamous.

Can you guess who and what car I'm talking about?

Yep, your right......The "Bug", and Hitler.

Makes you think, doesn't it.

I have nothing against the DRIVERS of these cars........just the cars.

I do like one thing that VW has.......that is the reverse gauges. Those I like.

I come from a VW family, and have owned several myself. I like the old ones up to 96. After that, they have been plagued with electrical problems, and many have fallen to electical fires. Plus they have gotten heavier w/o getting more power, and the susp has become more grandma-like. Where is the fun to drive factor? They roll over like pigs when trying to corner, but I can attest to their amazing levels of grip! Germans try to overcomplicate things...you ever seen the hinge system on a Mk4 Jetta Something so simple, they turned into a complex mechanism that is bound to cause problems. Simpler = Lighter = Faster
