Filing a Police Report [NOT CAR RELATED]

A friend of mine lost his wallet and wants to file a police report.

I imagine you just walk into the nearest police station and ask to file a report.

Anyone know the procedure and what you will be asked?

thanks

Just like what you said, you walk into one and tell them you lost your wallet, and then they give you paper work to fill out.

Depends what was in the wallet too. Cancel all the credit and bank cards, health card, SIN card, birth certificate. The police would probably be the last place I would go. They can't replace anything and it's not like they would go looking for it. It would just be good to have a report on record with them if anything actually happened with your ID.

Mike gives wise advice. If it hasn't been done already, suggest to your friend to cancel as many things as possible that can be used by someone else to create havoc in their life or make them victims of identity theft.

zomg the whole station is on the hunt for j00 wallet.

Truthfully though the police is the last place.

As stated above go ahead and cancel everything first then roll out to the piggies if you please.

Why would the police be the last thing. WTF! You need something on paper that's legit ie. police report if someone does something with your ID/Credit Cards.

I would go to them last just to have the occurrence # of the report. They can't/won't do jack for anything else.
