I don't think that's true...yes you can be hurting for an extremley long time, but before you know it, you'll be in love again and won't remember the hurt that you once felt.
It's part of the continous circle of life.
You'll love, you'll hurt, and you'll fall in love again.
Believe me, great, wonderful amazing things will happen when you least expect it.
Just be patient and don't search for these things to happen.
I think the saying goes...a watched kettle doesn't boil.......

George! You always let yourself get hurt! That's your problem! You shoulda listened to my advice, once a girl does something wrong (like start talking to her ex boyfriend!!!!) you shoulda said "SEE YA!" then you wouldn't have gotten hurt so bad!

It'll take time to feel good again, but never make the mistake in judging others based upon your past experience - like you said everyone is different, give them the benefit of doubt.
I'm no angel myself...I've been mean in my past relationships, but you learn from it and you take that lesson with you to the next. That's how we grow as people...
It seems like the end of the world when you're hurt but trust me you'll be fine hun!
