way to give some effective advice...

RED

Rest
Elevate
Direct Pressure

it's that easy... and get them to stitch it up ASAP, but make sure you squeeze the hell out of the finger so he doesn't keep losing blood and the wound can start to seal on it's own...and elevate it above the heart, having his hand on a table isn't enough, it must be above his heart...

last I checked we didn't have doctors surfing this board so the only good advice you can take from this is to GO TO THE HOSPITAL and yeah the rest elevate and direct pressure is good too ... but is only a FIRST AID this and is only meant to help keep the person alive until help arrives.

lol alive until help arrives? he didn't sever an artery, it's a finger.... that, may i add, seems to be still attached, the stiches will probably be purley cosmetic...

One x-mas eve I sliced myself good right between the middle finger and the index finger... definitely needed stiches, but NO WAY I was gonna spend x-mas in some hospital, so I taped my two fingers together to immobilize it to allow the two thingies of skin to begin to bond back together, and it turned out just fine yeah, I got a scar there, but it prolly wouldn't have been much better with stiches anyways. Common sense prevails again! haha
