Yeh that was definitely the stupidest thing I've ever seen. He fully deserved the red. But I agree that the Italian player must have said something good to get him going that much.

A bunch of french fans are saying he was paid off.. but I highly doubt it. Zidane wouldn't take money.. he's a classy player.
But man did he give that italian guy a good headbutt. I think Buffon running to the linesman won the red card though.. he didnt see ****

It was sad to see Zidane go out like that, terrible way to end he's career. Nice solid head but though! Though he DID deserve the red card, I don't think he should of gotten it, consider neither ref nor lines actually saw it happen! Football is not like hockey were you can go upstairs, and the play had continued quit a bit, therefore he shouldn't have gotten it. Good game, sad to see Zidane leave
