G/F is embarrassed by the club

yesterday me and some of westend guys went to starbucks to see my girlfriend....I wanted to introduce audiophilia to her. i saw her tonight and she told that her co worker asked who all my friends were. my girlfriend said that they were my friends from the car club....she was embarrassed saying this. She thinks it's childish..the whole car club concept. then on top of this she told me that she would NEVER EVER come to a meet, seriously...told me that she doesn't want to be involved in that part of my life(the club). this hurts man. she's a smart girl, i never thought she'd be so close minded.

in her defence she bias because my car has caused problems in our relationship.

My fellow TCC and UTM friend, I FEEL YOUR PAIN! My girl hates this so called 'car fetish' that I have. She thinks its childish and a waste of time. She thinks modifying your car is childish and stupid b'c 'why dont you jusy buy a car that has everything to begin with'. She thinks meets are the worst b/c 'why do you need to hang out and loiter in a parking lot' My car has also (not anymore) brought problems in my relationship b/c she thinks i love my car more then her. Yeah right. I myself arent the biggest fans of meets b/c i'm lazy and I dont like the drive but every once in a while is great by me. But in her defence she is the BEST thing in my life and has been since I met her 4 years ago
She always like to tell people very sarcastically about my 'car fetish' and how its sick? hahaha. Oh well!

1niceSi - hows school going?

Been there, done that. She comes to meets occasionally, but gets bored. Oh well, I don't mind that she doesn't like it or doesn't want to get involved.

James dont worry its happened to me too.
My ex still makes fun of me because I go to the boring civic club to stand aroud and drink coffee...

For a Girl I can see how it is boring....after all she wants ALL your all attention.

But then some girls dont mind at all. ...

Do what you want. Its your car she rides in , not hers.

once my girl didn;t really get the car scene either but now she's down like a chesta!

guy i couldn;t help but wonder what you are doing with a girl that can't support your intrests.....havn't you got higher hopes than that?......

bonnie and clyde.....

CANTONAGOD and michelle
WANT_2_GO_FAST and BABY GURL
me and mine

it's possible and there are chicks out there for ya...i suggest you start attending sgr meets and watch how fast you gf starts making time to come out man...

it only my opinion but i don't see a girl that can't enjoy the same things as her boyfriend as being supportive and I think relationships are built on truth and grow on support. like buildings the more floors you have the more you have to rely on the foundations.

but love is love man...so you know what ignore me and listen to your heart

I say you start going to all kinds of strip clubs. When she starts to complain about that, ask her to pick.........you going to the meet, or going to the strip clubs. I already know what she'll pick.

Well put Martin, but Jeff and I are a little different. For us it is a competition, everything is a competition. He wants to be fast, I want to be faster.

His favorite football team is Dallas Cowboys, mine is the SF 49ers.

It is the ideal relationship for me, we set targets for each other to grasp at and succeed. We make each other better people

How can I compete if I don't show interest in what he does, and you know what I love my car as much as he does his.

I love my girl more then anything. She has done more for me in the last 3 years then anyone could ever do in 40 lifetimes. I totally understand why she doesnt like it. she doesnt hate my 'car fetish' she likes to tease me. she knows that i'm in it to learn about cars and that i take it seriously unlike those punk *** kids that race around and rice up there rides. she just thinks that i should spend my cash wisely b/c i pay my own way through university. I tend to get overexcited when there is something that i want to buy and she just keeps me level headed. I would give up my car in an instant for her, but she would never ask me to do that

Well, it is very common that g/f has something to say about that...

How much did you spend on that intake? Didn't you say need to save up some $$$ for the wedding?

reply: It was only 80bucks, come on!

Why spend the whole weekend to wash all the cars in your household? It is sunny, shouldn't we go out and do some shopping and relax?

reply: I am relaxing...washing my cars is relaxing...

What u guys doing in the meet would take you over 3 hours? Don't u guys ever running out of topics?

reply: Not much we have done, but I enjoy the quality time with all other club members without worrying about my works, my family, my G/F!

All these have happened to me a year ago...and also part the reason that I broke up with my X.

Not to scare everyone here, but you need to tell your girl about your hobbies before getting into any serious relationship! Just my 2 cents!

Cheers!

You're between a rock and a hard place. Either way, you could potentially lose something/someone you love. You should know best what to do... seems to me like you already know... love g/f, leave car Just try to keep your mods reasonable, and after each big mod, make sure it's in your budget to buy jewlery or do something nice for her. Rule of thumb, 20% of cost of mod over $1000 should be put aside for jewlery. This way she will have a positive association with modifications. Yes, I'm saying you should train her like a dog. After an event...she gets a reward. It works on a deep physcholgical level. It stimulates the gold-digging portion present in every woman's brain. Please refer to the following scientific diagram...
