Gaming systems?

With winter hitting, I think I'm going to grab a console gaming system. I haven't had one since i bought my first playstation when they were first released. I like the sports games and fps games, anyone have a system they would recommend?

it's pretty hard to choose right now.

i mean, there is Xbox, PS2, Gamecube and now 360 is coming out.

as of right now, i can almost guarntee everyone will say 360.
in due time PS3 is coming and Revolution as well, but this wont be anytime soon.

I guess 360 FTW. why would you want older generation systems?

Saw the demo a few weeks ago in a company meeting, the details of the texture is simply amazing (though might not be immediately noticeable when you are emerged in the game play experience)

best buy has a 360 on display with a demo disk...meh, its not that that great...its just more detailed and fabric and liquid movements are more life like but when in game play i dont think its noticeable

you guys have to understand that the first few games that come out on new consoles aren't that great at all. why do you think games get better and better on a console? it's because developers learn new ways to use it to it's full potential. just look at GT3 vs. GT4 and the GTA series. it will take some time until we see the true colours of the next generation consoles. 360 will be sick once they use it to it's full potential but i think the PS3 will be better. xbox is just a downgraded computer, it just doesn't appeal to me as much as the PS2 does.

Thats why xbox is gay...u won't even be able to play their old games on the new system. Playstation stays loyal to their players. Forget this, scrap everything, make more money crap.

PS3...if u have patient. its 3X better than 360 imo. but if ur gonna buy now and u want the cheapest then go for gamecube, that's what i have and its a very good console imo too

xbox is not a downgraded computer while a ps3 is more.

both of them are very big video cards with some hardware to work the video card. that's it.

Xbox VS. playstation is soooo hard to decide. I've used both (but dont own either) consoles and think theyre both pretty damn good. I dont know much about the 360, but i do know you cant play your old games on it..so..id wait until PS3 comes out before i would make a final decision

I use a laptop and it's not that great for gaming, thats why i'm looking for a console system. I'm not interested in waiting for the new overpriced stuff, I thought the ps1 was great when it came out so maybe i'll just pick up a ps2

Isn't the PS2 going to be alot more money then the 360?

I don't really care about being able to play older games. If I did, then why would I buy a new system in the first place. New system=new games.

i'm gonna wait till revolution comes out. the new-generation controller appeals to me. instead of a joystick you move your hand forward/backwards and sensors pick it up. that's SICK
