garage wiring

jus wondering, on my garage door opener /door, we I have sensors that reverse the direction of the door if something comes in its path. Would it be possible to wire the opener so that a lightbulb stays on until the door is closed? SO it senses when the door is open , when the door is closed the light goes off and when it is open it stays on,

is this possible?

i guess you could put something like a triger between the door and the wall and make that turn the light on or off! thats the way i would do it.

some kind of pin switch would work,,if you're using an external light i mean..
when the door is all the way up it pushes in the pin switch, closing the circuit..voila, light

So tap into the lightbulb on the motor and use it as a switch to keep the lights on
