Gas prices around the world

CBC article on gas prices

I thought that this little article was a very interesting read. Especially with the sudden hike in gas prices here in Toronto, it brings a new point of view to the actual cost of gas.

Imagine having a government owned oil company like in Venezuela where premium fuel goes for 5.1 cents a litre?! It would cost us like $2.50 to fill up my Civic!!!!! But then again, the people probably don't make very much money there so it's all relative.

Holy i that would be good for the ppl have large gas tanks and what not....
Even tho its not too much to fill up a civic it would be nice to spend less than 5 dollars for a full tank.

gas prices are whack..we have our own oil supply somewhere up in the northwest territories or something but they prefer to get their oil from overseas...

*yawn* I drive a civic so do the rest of you ...

WHAT THE **** ARE YOU ALL COMPLAINING ABOUT?

seriously wow in the grand scheme of things you will not miss that extra 10 bucks a month your paying for gas. you wana save gas do what I do ...(I drive this way because once you've tried it you realize how relaxing it is)

1) when acclerating unless in top gear never go above 2000 rpm
2) in top gear never go above the speed limit
3) stay to the right you will be slower then everyone else
4) leave yourself tons of time to get to where your going

seriously though before I tried this out I was getting 400km to the tank. my current tank is above 500km and counting (about 1/4 tank left) and thats with an autocross on the weekend where those rules went out the window! I get to work at the same time and I leave for work at the same time I get home at the same time. and I'm a zillion times more relaxed.

I'll probably fill up after work and calculate my litres/100 km... but I must say when I was learning to drive stick this is how I drove and I was getting 600 to the tank... the car is super efficient if left out of the power band
