Gates is the greatest (well, the only great) American. What he's doing is very admirable, stepping down from the biggest corporation to help the poor. He's leading a great example and full respect to him

IMO gates did all he could for microsoft....i dont think there are anymore challenges for him to accomplish...so why not step away and give others a shot at running things.... not like he needs the $ anyways.

btw barry bonds is the greatest american

Gates is one of the best humanitarians. He has done and still is do so much in the fight against aids and malaria in Africa. This is only the tip of the iceberg, he has founded so many leading edge organizations that are doing their absolute best to offer aid to those who need it.

when you have alot of money comming in you pretty much are forced to put it into charities.

bill gates didnt do anything special. rather then pay the money to the gov't via taxes he like every other celebrity is putting it towards a charity or fund and in return he gets his name heard and people talk about how nice he is even more.

and if you read the article it still says he is just stepping down from the management team that doesnt change the fact that he still has ultimate control over things.

interesting enough, on the same note, I saw a biography on the Google founders, and one of them was saying that being a billionaire hasn't really changed his lifestyle, he still lives in an appartment and drives an 8 year old honda
